Sr. Dr. Maura Lynch was a medical missionary who spent fifty years living and working in Africa – Angola and Uganda. Working as a surgeon during times of conflict, she never lost sight of the people and what she could do to help them. Her legacy was great and will be particularly remembered for the work she did for the women of Uganda suffering from Obstetric Fistula. Sr. Dr. Maura campaigned, fundraised and helped build a clinic to treat these women, which still continues her great work today.
